Turn out, the all-weather school and other facilities

We have 38 acres of turn out in well drained fields; horses are turned out in small, single sex social groups of up to four per field.

Fencing is a mixture of post and rail and post/electric fence. To enable good herd size and manage effective field rotation temporary electric fencing is also employed.

In the summer months we turn out overnight, unless owners prefer day turn out, so that the horses can avoid the heat and flies of the day, and enjoy the cooler evenings and nights.

In spring and autumn, turn out is daily; turning out from 8.00am and bringing in before dark. In the winter time we have half day (morning) turn out, in part to protect the grazing but also to ensure that horses are moved between the yard and the fields as safely as possible.

We have a 20m by 40m all weather school situated with superb views over the surrounding paddocks and woodland. The school is outdoor and floodlit and can be used by all our liveries on a booking basis. See the general Yard rules for those rules relating to the use of the school.

For owners and staff, we have a small rest room with WC and tea and coffee making facilities. There is also a large car park with ample space for lorry and trailer parking for a small extra cost..
